When Theatrhythm was first announced a number of Western commentators were dismissive of the game: “A rhythm game based on the music of Final Fantasy?” they cried, “Sheer madness!”
And then Square Enix released a demo on the Japanese 3DS eShop. It turns out that Theatrhythm shows a lot of potential, especially if you are a fan of the Final Fantasy games. Currently Theatrhythm Final Fantasy only has a Japanese release date of February 16th 2012, and it may never be released in the West. Unfortunately the 3DS is region locked, meaning that the only way you’ll be able to play this (unless something changes in the near future) is if you happen to own a Japanese 3DS.
