Leading cinematographic visionary Guillermo Del Toro has been waxing lyrical concerning the role some of the leading forms of media will be playing in the future, specifically stating his assertion that;
“Video games are no doubt the bridge to the future of genre narrative,”
In addition to equating current generation’s video games ability to communicate with that of film already, he went on to talk excitedly about what we have in store in the future…
“The video game – not all of them right now – but the video games we’ll be playing in 2020 will be fucking masterpieces. Many masterpieces.”
This is all the more thought provoking considering it comes from one of cinema’s leading autors and a creative and stylistic genius.
True to his word, Del Toro is currently involved in at least one significant game project as we speak…
