Retro Quick Look:- Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver

Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver was originally released on the PlayStation back in the hazy days on 1999 to significant critical acclaim. Made by Crystal Dynamics, whose game Tomb Raider had revolutionised the 3D adventure genre,  it told the story of undead vampire prince Raziel and his quest for revenge on those that wronged him. To say that the game’s narrative is complex would be an understatement (so complex that our own Adam Radcliffe has ) and with that in mind we’ve produced a short video below to remind the world why Soul Reaver was so special.

The Soul Reaver series went on to have two sequel on the PlayStation 2, but we think enough time has passed for the series to be revisited. What would you like to see in a new Soul Reaver game? Would you prefer a straight up remake, a reboot of the series, or maybe something entirely new following on from the original games? Make sure you share your thoughts in the comments section because you never know who might be reading!

    Brilliant, brilliant game.
It’s really a shame that they never did give this series a proper finish. :(

Agreed! One of the PS1′s best. I’m hopeful that they’ll do a reboot before too long – they’ve dropped enough hints about it already!
