First person shooters has been somewhat of a hit or miss genre on Nintendo consoles. Whilst we marvel at the greatness of GoldenEye or Turok, we also have to live with the likes of The Conduit, they are either absolutely spot on, or abysmally bad. These days Nintendo strive to develop some of the most accessible, family friendly games on the market, I’m of the opinion that they should also pump a bit of that cash they’ve got lying around into a sequel for the little gaming gem I’m going to talk to you about today, XIII (or 13 if you don’t know your Roman numerals).

Game: Assassin’s Creed 2: The Battle of Forli & Bonfire of the Vanities & Secret Locations
Format: 360, PS3
Developer: Ubisoft Montreal
Publisher: Ubisoft
Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed series has a love-hate relationship with me. I was not the only one who to put it quite mildly, didn’t like the first instalment (my review of it can be found here: http://rt.nu/_d74sc) as despite it’s huge sales, every games critic under the sun gave it the good hard bashing it rightfully deserved. To my surprise then that last year Assassin’s Creed 2 released and not only did it garner huge sales, but this time it was good. Very VERY good in fact, a gargantuan improvement on it’s predecessor and subsequently it ended up being my personal game of the year (although I was out voted in The Newb Review “Game of The Year” awards, article found here: http://rt.nu/boju5y, by about a quadrillion to one).
So naturally, since I enjoyed the game so much I’ve decided to splash out on the 2 brand new(ish) DLC packs. Sequence 12, The Battle of Forli and Sequence 13, Bonfire of the Vanities & Secret Locations. Are they worth the money? Well, hold on…I’m getting onto that bit now.

November is always a very exciting time of year in the gaming calender. Mostly because every man and is bloody dog releases their game in November in an attempt to garner a few extra sales thanks to Christmas and the January sales. This year being no different of course, we’ve had the likes “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2”, “Left 4 Dead 2” and “Assassin’s Creed 2” have all come out within a week or two of each other, meaning that us nerds have become bankrupt just in time to start our Christmas shopping. I’ll admit it, I’ve got them all. “Left 4 Dead 2”, “Dragon Age: Origins” (although I did trade it back in on the account that the Xbox 360 version was rubbish), “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2” and most strangely “Assassin’s Creed 2”. Why most strangely you ask? Because to be honest at the time I wasn’t very into the whole “Assassin’s Creed” type thing, I simply went out on a whim and bought it…and am I ever glad I did? “Assassin’s Creed 2” for me is the best of the November bunch and quite possibly the best game I’ve played all year.
However this isn’t a review about “Assassin’s Creed 2”, this is a review about it’s predecessor so lets get on with the review!

Game: Assassin’s Creed 2 Format: XBox 360 Developer: Ubisoft Montreal Publisher: Ubisoft In the world of entertainment there is an unwritten rule that sequels tend to be much worse than the original; the latest album from your favourite band is not quite as good as the previous album, your favourite author’s latest book just does [...]
