Early Wednesday morning (3 AM) my friends and I (all eight of us) headed out for Indianapolis, only to arrive 12 hours later. We nabbed badges for those that forgot to preorder and settled into our hotel for a night of pre-gaming er… gaming.
Dear Community: The Design Team Needs Your Help!
Dramatization of UDE watching us falter.
As many of you may or may not know, the design team has hit a signifigant snag regarding testing and finalization of MGX: Marvel Galaxies. In short, we will be needing players willing to volunteer their time to test, and of course, by “test” i really mean attempt to break the set in any way possible. of course in order to really take advantage of any future testing opportunity, we need to export the sizable set into a magic workstation/octgn2 engine.
This is the crux of our problem. READ MORE »
OSM’s Event Organizer Guide
The thrill of competition has been around for as long as people have been around. Before the first Olympics in Greece, someone had to organize it. Before the first fan-run vs system event too, someone had to organize it. What exactly happens in this organizing process I hope by the end of this article will be clear. It is worth noting that events will vary, just like formats do. And that is just one change. You’ll have to answer many questions before the first round of your event starts – How much is the entry fee? Will there be food available? How much does it cost to rent the venue? How many people should I expect will be at the event? How do I drum up support for the event and get as many people there as possible? What should be ordered as prize support? Is there any potential issues that can arise with third parties? Is (insert action) legal in the country I’m running an event in? Do we have access to rules references in case there are disputes during match play? Will we be able to get video or picture coverage of the event? What is transportation going to look like? Is the venue at a place that is accessible to the most players possible? The list goes on, and on, and on. READ MORE »
Mega-Weekend World Tour: New Jersey!
One of the last true “bastions” (pun intended) of live Vs. play has to be All in One Collectibles located at 540 Route 10 West, Randolph, NJ 07869. We all owe a special thanks to Tom for keeping the scene there VERY alive.
Tom hosted one of this year’s Mega-Weekends there in July and, while there was not a lot of coverage, there are some pics to wet your whistle. And we have to make sure that the champs get their time in the spotlight so that they have something worth defending NEXT year!

French Mega-Weekend Coverage
By Vincent Jannin
The French mega-weekend was attended by 11 participants from Lyon and Paris. Unfortunately, players from other Europeans countries could not join us for the event. Nevertheless, it was a clear success in term of friendly atmosphere and card rivalries. READ MORE »
Minnesota Mega-Weekend Coverage
The Minneapolis crew DOMINATED the event, with each of them going 3-1. In fact, the three Minneapolis players combined had more wins than all five St. Cloud players combined (well, the four St. Cloud players and me). Yikes! After four rounds, the top two seeds (Martie and Paul) played it out for the championship, with the win – and the sweet playmat – going to Paul Madden.
