Hot on the heels of the success of the fan-organised UK National championships, our Italian friends have decided to organise their own version.
Cosmoccp announced the details on our forum a couple of days ago and my good buddy Chris “G’daybloke” Miller picked up the ball when I was snoozing and put together a spiffing, shiny logo and promotional article to help push the event.

Dave Humphreys, from UDE has announced that the next expansion after Marvel Universe will not be a DC Comics release, but instead it will be another Marvel related set. Dave said that Marvel Evolution will hit the shelves around November. Here’s what Dave had to say:
“We have been in ongoing discussions with DC Comics to expand our licensing category, and instead of delaying the release of our next set, we’ve decided to deviate from our alternating release schedule. As a result, the upcoming release of Marvel Evolution will mark the first major, back-to-back Marvel launch”

As potentially the most dangerous team in the set, we’re thrilled to be analyzing each conniving character, putrid plot twist, evil equipment and lousy location these bad guys have to offer.

In an effort to continue the promotion of the game within the UK, I will be announcing any tournaments that are brought to my attention using the new events calendar plugin I’ve installed. Keep an eye on the calendar on the left hand side of the site as it will highlight events within the UK.
To get underway, we being with a Golden Age tournament in Sheffield.
UDE.com has updated the new marquee events page with the latest event details – a modern age Bring Your Own set tournament (Normal BYOS rules apply, but you can only make a deck from Modern legal sets.) That’s not the good stuff though, let’s get to the booty.

Welcome to my report on the (Unofficial) 2008 UK Championships. Be warned. It’s a bit long.
For those that don’t know me, my name is Felix Hughes and I’m a long time comics fan and card player, so VS is pretty much the perfect game for me. I started out slow with a Spiderman starter and a few Marvel Origins boosters, and kept up with this playing crazy multi-player games until the arrival of Marvel Knights. This was the first set with a bunch of characters I actually liked (I had loads of old Ghost Rider comics, so I actually knew who people like Vengeance and Anton Hellgate were for one thing), and I loved the idea of concealed characters (and KO’ing people).
