Retro Quick Look:- Tenchu: Stealth Assassins

This week we’re looking back at Activision’s ninja simulator Tenchu: Stealth Assassins. Originally released in Europe in 1998, the game put you in the role of one of two ninja assassins, Rikimaru and Ayane, who work for the benevolent Lord Gohda, and must eliminate those that threaten peace in the land.  As the name suggests, the aim of each mission is to stealthily sneak through environments filled with enemies and take out a specific target.

At the time it was a genuinely unique experience that a lot of our team members hold in high regard, however it has not aged well. Join Tom, Kieran and Adam as we look back at this PSOne classic.

Tenchu: Stealth Assassins is currently not available on the European PlayStation Store, so it looks like the only way to experience this game again is to track down a copy on eBay. If you would like to see this game get a digital re-release then we suggest that you get on to Activision or the PlayStation Store team, with the recent addition of PSOne titles to the PlayStation Vita there has never been a better time to request specific titles.

Tune in next week for another newbreview.com Retro Quick Look video!
