Event Preview: GameCity Nights #7 – The G5 Summit

GameCityWhile Tom has been at GamesCom with EA, the rest of us have been sitting here doing housekeeping. But now it’s time to get out of the house and visit a much more accessible (local) gaming event, GameCity Nights.

This week, on Friday the 27th August, we return to the series of after dark gaming events in Nottingham. Previous Nights events have featured some amazing line ups including; Sean Murray with Joe Danger, Rob Burman with 3D Dot Game Heroes, Ste Curran with Chime, GLPeas with BlindGiRl, Bizarre Creations with Blur and James Moran and Charles Cecil with the Doctor Who game for the PC.

The next GameCity Nights, this Friday, will be focused on preparations for the big GameCity main event in October. This year’s line up of events will be announced and the floor will be open for new ideas and discussion about how to promote the biggest and best gaming event in the Midlands. That’s right; they want to know what you have to say! Apart from you, ItsActuallyAdam. Nobody wants to know what you have to say…

There will also be games to play and food to eat at a very reasonable price. There’s usually a host of indie games spread around the room. You never know what you might find.

I expect everyone reading this in the Midlands to be there, so book your place here to avoid disappointment. Make sure you introduce yourself if you see me (picture below) and please let anyone at the event know that you heard about it at The Newb Review.

GameCity Nights is on Friday (27th August) opening doors at around 6pm and kicking off around 7.30pm. Entry is £3 and the event is, as always, held at Antenna on Beck Street, just off Huntingdon Street in Notts. Don’t be fooled by Google Street View, it’s there. Entrance is for over 18’s only. Sorry kids.
